BBC star Kate Humble discusses sex and plays 'snog, marry, avoid- on new tour

Squeaky clean TV favourite Kate Humble will down gin to cure stage fright before her live performances.

The former Springwatch host, 53, whose one-woman show is touring the UK, said she was baffled by her wholesome image.

She said: “I am going to stand on stage unless I get so nervous that I drink too many gins and then I might have to sit down.”

One part of the show that makes the nature presenter apprehensive is the audience’s questions.

She said: “I have no idea what anyone is going to ask.”

Kate revealed a favourite was asked on an earlier tour. “One which threw me off guard, but made me laugh a lot, was: ‘Ben Fogle, Bill Oddie, David Attenborough: snog, marry, avoid’ Isn’t that brilliant?”

The TV star also revealed her live shows feature her opening up about sex and testicles.

She said: “I’ve been putting clips together from old shows and I hate to say, there’s a little bit of sex. There is quite a lot of testicles.

“I don’t know what I’ve been doing over the last 30 years that’s made everyone say that I’m wholesome because clearly, I’m not.”

Kate is also known for BBC ’s Animal Park and Lambing Live. An Evening With Kate Humble runs until May.
