Former snooker champion Graeme Dott suspended over alleged child sexual abuse

Former snooker champion Graeme Dott has been suspended from the sport over sexual abuse accusations.

In a statement, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) said: “Graeme Dott has been suspended by the WPBSA due to a case which is scheduled to be heard before the High Court in Scotland."

It added: “Whilst court proceedings are ongoing, it would be inappropriate for the WPBSA to make any further comment."

The 47-year-old won the 2006 World Championship, defeating Peter Ebdon in the final.

According to TalkSport, prosecutors claim the former champion sexually abused a boy and a girl who were around 10 at the time.

He allegedly instructed a girl to "remove her lower clothing” before he “exposed his penis" and assaulted her.

He is also accused of sexually assaulting a boy between 2006 and 2010.

This charge states claims that Dott stripped naked and "entered" a shower where the youngster was bathing.
