Less than a year ago, Edward McGinty was playing for Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland.
Tonight, he starts against Arsenal in front of 12,500 people in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Motherwell born shot-stopper signed for Sligo in 2017 after spending time as a youngster at Celtic and Hibernian.
The 23-year-old spent five seasons with the League of Ireland side and made 97 league appearances during that time.
Despite being born in Scotland, McGinty has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level. He made his debut for the u21 side in a 2-1 loss to Iceland in 2021.
Last Summer, McGinty made the move to Oxford. After a slow start, the youngster finally made his debut for the League One side in an EFL Cup clash with Swansea. Oxford won on that occasion, with McGinty endearing himself to fans by making a save in the penalty shootout as The Yellows progressed to the next round.
Since then, McGinty has made three league appearances for Oxford. Tonight, he lines out for the League One side against a front three of Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli.
