A former assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson has compared new Liverpool signing Luis Diaz to Manchester United great Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Merseyside club announced the signing of Diaz on Sunday to a long-term contract.
While at Porto, the winger notched up an impressive 41 goals from 125 appearances which has led to Carlos Queiroz comparing him to the Portuguese great.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said: "Now Luis, he's in a phase of adaptation to European football.
"He's learning from a mistake here and there, like what happened to other great players that he's had in my career like [Luis] Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo and [Paulo] Futre."
It was rumoured that Manchester United were keen on signing the Colombian but Manchester Evening News understands that the Red Devils were never in the running to sign the winger.
The reason for this was believed to be due to United's abundance of right-footed left wingers, in particular Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
