Ireland underage striker Aidomo Emakhu has made the move from Shamrock Rovers to Millwall, both clubs confirmed on Thursday.
And the 19-year-old will wear the number 22 jersey at his new club - in a nod to his hometown of Clondalkin in Dublin 22.
Emakhu completed his Leaving Cert at Moyle Park College in the Dublin suburb this past summer, before opening himself up to the prospect of a move abroad.
He joined Rovers in 2020 and moved up to the first-team last year, when he made his debut in May 2021 against Derry City.
He scored goals in all three European competitions - Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League - across two continental campaigns.
His first was an injury-time home-leg winner in the Europa Conference League against FC Teuta.
Emakhu followed that up with goals in the Champions League this season against Bulgarian side Ludogorets and in the Europa League against Shkupi.
Rovers announced his departure in a statement, adding: “All at the club wish Aidomo all the very best of luck in his future career.”
Emakhu will officially become a Millwall player on January 1, when the transfer window re-opens.
