Former Shamrock Rovers man forced to sit out hectic January schedule

Aaron McEneff will miss out on a crucial 16-day, four-game spell for Perth Glory as he nurses a foot injury.

The former Shamrock Rovers midfielder has emerged as a key member of the A-League side since his switch from Hearts last year.

McEneff, who was called into the senior Ireland squad for a 2020 Nations League clash with Bulgaria, will sit out the busy schedule.

Perth are at home to Western Sydney Wanderers, Brisbane Roar, Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory.

Glory boss Ruben Zadkovich said: “We’re without him at the moment, it’s a big loss.

“He carries with him a presence, a level of quality which we lacked at times in that Adelaide game.

“It looks like not too bad an injury, but serious enough to keep him out for a couple of weeks.”
