Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner continues to defy Father Time with yet another standout playoff performance. One week after Wagner had eight total tackles, half a sack and a fumble recovery in a Commanders 23-20 win over the Buccaneers, he practically did it again.
Once more, Wagner had eight more tackles in Washington’s shocking 45-31 upset victory against the Detroit Lions. Now, Wagner is headed back to the NFC Championship for he first time since the 2014 season.
Back then, the Seahawks were defending both their conference title and Super Bowl championship, and were successful in retaining their status as NFC champions. Wagner, and the rest of the Legion of Boom, were instrumental in helping Seattle come back against the Green Bay Packers in another shocking playoff moment.
Perhaps it should not be all that surprising Wagner is back in the NFC Championship, because he is returning with the coach who was with him the last time: Dan Quinn. Back then, Quinn was Seattle’s defensive coordinator. Now he is Wagner’s head coach, attempting to lead a team into the Super Bowl for the first time since he took the Atlanta Falcons in 2016.
