Former Seahawks DE Carlos Dulap visiting Panthers today

According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, former Seahawks defensive end Carlos Dunlap is visiting the Panthers today.

Dunlap was a second-round pick by the Bengals in 2010. He played for 11 years in Cincinnati, racking up 82.5 sacks and two Pro Bowl nominations during his time there. He was traded to the Seahawks in the middle of the 2020 season and had a huge positive impact on their defense down the stretch. Dunlap stayed for another season, putting in a total of 25 games in a Seattle uniform. The Seahawks officially released him on June 1, freeing up around $5 million in salary cap room for the 2022 season.

Carolina is in need of another pass rusher to pair with Brian Burns after losing Haason Reddick to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks seem content with their current edge rotation, headed up by top free agent acquisition Uchenna Nwosu and third-year up and comer Darrell Taylor.
