Former Scottish hotel on fire again as emergency serves tackle blaze

FIREFIGHTERS are battling a fire within a derelict building in Dumbarton for the second time in less than a month.

Several fire engines were spotted at the site of the former Dumbuck House Hotel on Glasgow Road at 10pm on Sunday night.

The A814 Glasgow Road between the A82 and Oaktree Gardens has been closed by police, although nobody has been injured and there is no risk to the wider community.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers are assisting Scottish Fire and Rescue Service following a fire at a derelict building on Glasgow Road, Dumbarton.

“The fire was reported around 9pm on Sunday, July 21 2024. The A814 Glasgow Road is closed between the A82 Stirling Road and Oaktree Gardens.

“Local diversions are in place and motorists are advised to use alternative routes. No-one has been injured and there is no risk to the wider community.”
