Joe Dodoo marked his return to competitive football on Tuesday night, scoring on his debut for Solihull Moors in a 1-1 draw against Altrincham - ending a 814-day spell without a club.
The 29-year-old forward was unveiled by the English National League side just hours before kick-off and made an immediate impact, confidently converting a 52nd-minute penalty to secure a valuable point for his new team.
Dodoo’s career has taken him on a winding journey since leaving Rangers in 2018.
Signed by Mark Warburton during the summer of 2016, he initially showed promise - memorably netting a brace against Partick Thistle to open his league account - but struggled for consistency.
His brief stint at Ibrox concluded early by ‘mutual consent’ after he failed to cement a regular first-team place.

After departing Rangers, Dodoo had spells across the English lower leagues as well as a short period in Turkey, but had been without a club for over two years.
During this absence, he launched a YouTube channel called Train Elite Football, aiming to share training drills and tips to help elevate players' games.
His last competitive appearance came for Burton Albion on January 1, 2023, making Tuesday’s return a significant milestone in his nomadic career.
Dodoo joins Solihull Moors at a critical time, with the West Midlands side currently sitting 16th in England’s fifth tier and registering just one win in their last 14 matches since the start of the year.
