Former Queen of the South boss Wullie Gibson has signed for Annan Athletic.
The 38-year-old has agreed a deal with the Galabankies as Peter Murphy’s side looks to push for the play-offs in the second half of the season.
Gibson has made more than 600 appearances at club level for Queens, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, Crawley Town, Dunfermline and Falkirk in his career. And the Annan manager is delighted to bring in a player with his experience.
Most recently he was the South boss but left the club after a poor run of results.
Murphy said: “We are delighted to welcome Wullie Gibson to the club. He brings a wealth of experience in his ability on the pitch, whilst off the pitch he’ll help our younger players progress in training.
“It shows how far we have come as a club to be able to attract players of this calibre. Having been player of the year at Queen of the South in the Championship two seasons ago he will no doubt bring the quality we need to push us on for the rest of the season.”
Gibson watched from the stands as the League Two side blew away Bonnyrigg Rose 4-0 at Galabank on Saturday.
East Fife are the visitors to Annan this weekend with a 3pm kick off.
