A former PSNI Deputy Chief Constable, Stephen Martin, has been appointed to the same rank at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC).
The police services protect civil nuclear sites across England and Scotland.
DCC Martin said he was "delighted" to be appointed to the new role.

The CNC is an armed police force with over 1,600 officers at sites across two countries.
It provides armed protection for those sites as well as for nuclear materials when they are being moved.
“I am delighted to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Constable of the Civil Nuclear Constabulary," DCC Martin said.
"I very much look forward to working with all my new colleagues around Great Britain in their critical mission of safeguarding the nation’s nuclear interests.
"I can see already that this is a progressive police service with an ambitious workforce and an exciting future.”
Mr Martin had announced his retirement from the PSNI in 2020, having been acting as a temporary Deputy Chief Constable there since 2018.
He had served almost 34 years across the RUC and PSNI.
He had applied for the Chief Constable role, and sought legal advice after missing out on the job to the incumbent Simon Byrne.
Mr Martin was appointed chairman of the Irish FA in August 2020.
The CNC Chief Constable Simon Chesterman welcomed the appointment and said he would be of great help to their work.
“Stephen’s wealth of experience in armed policing, and his ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives will enable him to hit the ground running in his new role.
"He will be a tremendous asset to the CNC as we pursue our ambitions for the future of the organisation.”
