Family members, along with world leaders, are set to gather on Thursday for the National Funeral Service honoring former President Jimmy Carter. The service is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. ET at the Washington National Cathedral.
President Joe Biden is slated to deliver a eulogy during the service, marking a significant moment for the Democrat as he pays tribute to his longtime friend in the final days of his presidency. Additionally, President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed his intention to attend the service.

Following the funeral service, Carter's remains will be transported to his cherished hometown of Plains, Georgia, for a private internment at the family residence later that evening. Members of the public are invited to line the motorcade route as Carter's casket, accompanied by his family, makes its way through Plains to the late president's final resting place.
