Former President Bill Clinton was discharged from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital on Tuesday after being treated for the flu. His office expressed gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the hospital staff and thanked everyone for the well wishes received during his stay.
Clinton, 78, was admitted to the hospital on Monday for testing and observation after developing a fever. Over the years, the 42nd president has faced various health challenges, including quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2004, a partially collapsed lung in 2005, and the insertion of two stents in a coronary artery in 2010.
In 2021, Clinton was hospitalized in Los Angeles for six days due to a urological infection that spread to his bloodstream. Despite these health issues, he has remained active, speaking at the Democratic National Convention in August and maintaining a busy campaign schedule this fall.
Clinton's latest hospitalization comes amidst the release of his new book, 'Citizen: My Life After the White House,' which has kept him engaged in a robust travel schedule since the election. His office conveyed his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to all well-wishers.
