The Solheim Cup, one of the best events in golf, kicks off Friday at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
The United States and European teams will practice all week until the opening ceremony on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET. On Friday and Saturday, the teams will face off in morning Foursomes (alternate shot) and afternoon Fourball (best ball) before Sunday Singles.

On Monday, Team USA, which features players like Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, Rose Zhang and Lexi Thompson, was visited by a special guest at dinner.
Former United States President Barack Obama, a big-time golfer himself, surprised the U.S. squad by sharing some words of encouragement.

Allisen Corpuz, a Hawaiian who won the U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach, shared a handshake with President Obama. The two attended the same school.
