Former Patriots 11-game starter signs to Packers practice squad

The Green Bay Packers announced on Monday that they signed former New England Patriots guard Michael Jordan to their practice squad.

Jordan was an 11-game starter for the Patriots this season before he was ultimately released and replaced by rookie Layden Robinson. He ranked in the bottom half of all Patriots offensive players with a 51.4 Pro Football Focus grade.

Granted, he’s a good depth option for the Packers. He’s played in 67 games and started in 40 of them. So they’re getting a player with a lot of NFL experience.

That’s what the Patriots hoped to lean on with their struggling offensive line, but it never worked out with Jordan in New England. They’ve now shifted their attention to the future, along with the hope that Cole Strange will return at some point as well.

They also recently signed guard Lester Cotton and interior blocker Lecitus Smith. This is as good of an opportunity as any for Jordan to hit the refresh button in Green Bay.
