Former Panthers QB plans to make NFL comeback this season

Now that he’s already conquered the high school ranks as the head coach of his alma mater, former Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater may be planning on making another stop back up in the big leagues.

Bridgewater, fresh off leading Miami Northwestern Senior High School to their first state title since 2019, joined Tuesday’s episode of The Insiders, with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. The 32-year-old, who retired from the NFL this past February, hinted at a comeback for the remainder of the current campaign.

A first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014, Bridgewater spent the 2020 campaign as the starting quarterback for Carolina. Over his 15 games as a Panther, he passed for a career-high 3,733 yards with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

His last down came in Week 5 of the 2023 season, as a member of the Detroit Lions.
