The New York Jets ruled out former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers with an ankle injury after the future Hall of Famer needed a cart to exit the sideline following a sack on the Jets’ first drive of the 2023 season on Monday night.
Rodgers, 39, got twisted down on the sack by Leonard Floyd and appeared to injure his left ankle.

Based on the mechanism of the injury, there is worry about a potential Achilles tendon tear.
Zach Wilson replaced Rodgers as the Jets quarterback.
While Rodgers is now a former member of the Packers, his availability is still directly tied to his former team. The second-round draft pick in 2024 traded to the Packers for Rodgers would become a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the offense’s snaps in 2023. It would remain a second-rounder if Rodgers doesn’t hit 65 percent.
