The rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan doesn’t end even when players, and sometimes coaches, move on to the NFL.
J.K. Dobbins started his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens but battled injury all throughout his time there. While he was healthy, he showed glimpses of greatness. The injuries eventually became too much for the Ravens so the team let him walk, setting up an unlikely pairing with former Wolverine head coach Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers.
In his first game as a Charger, Dobbins went off showing elusive quickness and speed that reminded us of his days in Scarlet and Gray. Dobbins would rush for 135 yards and a touchdown on just 10 carries. Harbaugh even gave the former Buckeye the game ball in the locker room for his performance.
On Monday, Dobbins was invited to appear on the Pat McAfee Show to discuss his breakout game. Of course, McAfee couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring up Michigan’s recent success to which Dobbins took exception. He was quick to share that as his current head coach, he loves playing for Harbaugh, but he didn’t believe that those games would ultimately count suggesting the wins would eventually be vacated by the NCAA. Well, there you have it. We’ll see how good the relationship is between Dobbins and Harbaugh and if his touches increase or decrease this week. The Chargers will take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday in Charlotte.
