Former Ohio State defensive end and assistant coach Mike Vrabel has been named the NFL’s 2021-2022 Coach of the Year at the NFL Honors awards ceremony on Thursday night.
Vrabel, who played for Ohio State under John Cooper from 1993-1996, also coached for the Buckeyes as an assistant from 2011-2013 before being moving on to the NFL with the Houston Texans as an assistant from 2014-2017. As a player, Vrabel still leads Ohio State as the career leader in tackles for loss and sacks as a two-time All-American.
Vrabel just finished up his fourth season as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans where he has led the organization to a 43-27 record. This season, Vrabel led the Titans to a 12-5 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC before they fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in the divisional round.

From two-time All-American to Super Bowl champion, to All-Pro, to NFL Coach of the Year. That’s one whale of a career a guy that bleeds scarlet and gray and hails from the Buckeye state.
