Ohio State football fans will remember Rob Harley as a former walk-on special teams ace from 2002 through 2005 and he is now rising up the coaching ranks. Harley was recently announced as the new defensive coordinator for the Northern Illinois Huskies.
It has been a long coaching journey for the former Buckeye as he started at the Division II level at Ohio Dominican before moving onto Michigan State. He also spent time coaching at FIU and Pittsburgh before most recently being the defensive coordinator at Arkansas State.
The move back to the Midwest makes sense considering he is from Illinois. It is always great seeing former Buckeyes succeed at the coaching level and we are wishing Rob Harley good luck.
