Former office unit next to Premier convenience store converted into one-bed flat

A former office unit which neighbours a Premier convenience store in South Gloucestershire has been converted into a one-bed flat.

The 'huge' property in Chelford Grove, Patchway is on the market for £795 per month, with Bradley Stoke-based Lifestyle Property Services handling the sale on behalf of the landlord.

The ground floor of the building was previously used as office space by the Kudos group, which provides training and development consultancy for the private and public sectors.

To the left of the flat is a carpet shop and to the right is a Premier shop. The small promenade is also home to a barbershop, a florist and a beauty salon.

The large windows in the bedroom and open plan living room/kitchen are covered by shop-style steel electric shutters - although these can be replaced with blinds if the tenant prefers, says Lifestyle Property Services.

In his virtual tour, the agent says: "Good afternoon, I'd like to introduce 7c Chelford Grove which is a one-bedroom ground floor flat, but square footage wise it is huge.

"The landlord will fit you either blinds or a covering. There are electric blinds that come down which I can't show you immediately because they're up.

"It's a lovely big sized room (the kitchen/living room) and there's lots and lots of light.

"It's very handy for local shops for obvious reasons and very handy for Aztec West."

When videoing the electric blinds in the bedroom, he says: "In reality, during the day, nobody can see in here."

The flat, which has a separate shower room in addition to the bedroom and kitchen/dining room, comes with a new oven, fridge and washing machine.

It has had more than 8,000 views since being listed on April 12, and a spokesperson for Lifestyle Property Services said it's attracting a lot of interest thanks to its "quality finish".

Speaking on behalf of the landlord, he said there has been a reduction in footfall in the small shopping street after Lidl opened a supermarket nearby, so accommodation was more viable than a new shop.

"The landlord has used this opportunity to create more affordable housing for the community," the agent told Bristol Live. "He's trying to increase housing density in the area because that's what we need.

"Footfall has gone down in the street after Lidl opened across the road so he decided to convert it into a property instead, which is attracting a lot of interest."
