Former Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton has confirmed that he expects to leave Queens Park Rangers at the end of the season.
The manager is out of contract at the Kayan Prince Foundation Stadium in the summer, with talks yet to take place over a new deal. Warburton put pen-to-paper on new terms with the club last year, but it is reported that the agreement didn’t extend the length of his previous contract.
QPR were challenging Forest for a place in the Championship playoffs at the end of the season but a downturn in form has seen them slip behind in the race. The Hoops currently sit in 10th place in the table, six points adrift of Sheffield United in sixth place.

Speaking ahead of his side’s penultimate game of the season against the Blades, Warburton admitted that he now expects to leave the club after the next two games.
“I think if that was the case (of staying) communication about contract talks would already have been held,” Warburton said, via West London Sport . “But my job, rest assured, is that while you are in post you do the job to the best of your ability and that will always be the case.
“We’ve all got flaws and faults, but I can honestly say that will never change and whatever job I am in I will be very fastidious and you do the job to the best of your ability. “I don’t expect to be here (next season) but I will do the job to the best I can from here and see what happens after that,” he added.
Warburton was in charge of Forest between March 2017 and December 2017, winning 15 and losing 19 of his 37 matches in charge of the club. He has been with QPR since May 2018.
