Former Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa midfielder released by Premier League new boys

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury will be released by Luton Town when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 32-year-old left the City Ground in 2017 having made 150 appearances for the Reds across a five year-spell. He scored 33 goals alongside 20 assists during his time at the club.

Lansbury has also had spells at Aston Villa and Bristol City since leaving Forest. More recently, he has been at Luton Town where he made 48 appearances in two seasons with The Hatters.

But he was not involved in their Championship play-off final win over Coventry City last weekend and will not be playing for them in the top flight either after being released.

Luton also confirmed that two other senior players; Harry Isted and Sonny Bradley will also depart for pastures new this summer.

"All at Kenilworth Road would like to thank Sonny, Henri and Harry for their wonderful service to the club and for the respective roles they have each played in our three promotions," said a club statement.

Saturday's nail-biting penalty shootout win over Coventry means that the Hatters will be playing in English football's top-flight next season for the first time since 1992. Luton won 6-5 on penalties following a nervy 1-1 draw at Wembley.
