Gosder Cherilus, a former NFL player, has spoken out on social media following allegations of misconduct during a flight to Dublin. Cherilus, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2008, released a statement on Monday addressing the incident that led to his arrest.

In his statement, Cherilus explained that the delay of the flight, which lasted approximately four hours, prompted him to take a sleeping medication that he was not accustomed to. This medication allegedly resulted in behavior that was out of character for him, leading to the unfortunate incident on the flight.

According to reports, Cherilus boarded the plane appearing intoxicated and got into an argument with the flight crew over his seat. It was further alleged that he urinated on an elderly passenger and engaged in physical altercations with other passengers before eventually passing out in a different seat.

Cherilus was subsequently arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing a flight crew, and resisting arrest. He appeared in court for arraignment and is scheduled to return for a pretrial hearing on October 11.

During his NFL career, Cherilus played for the Detroit Lions and later the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring in 2017. He was known for his contributions as an offensive lineman during his time in the league.

This incident has brought unwanted attention to Cherilus, who expressed regret for his actions and apologized to the passengers and flight crew involved. As the legal process unfolds, Cherilus will have to address the consequences of his behavior on that fateful flight to Dublin.
