Former Neighbours actress Caitlin Stasey has opened up about her decision to move from acting into adult entertainment. The 32-year-old, who is from Melbourne in Australia, directs pornographic films.
Caitlin first announced her new career in 2021 and shocked fans when she did so. Aside from being a director, she is also the writer at the female-owned pornography studio Afterglow.
Speaking on the I've Got News for You podcast, Caitlin revealed: "The content is pretty intense, but it runs just like any other film set. The sets tend to be really inclusive. There's a lot of women. In fact, I think there are more female directors in pornography than there are in mainstream film and television.”

The actress, who used to play Rachel Kinsi on the Australian soap opera - which will soon make a comeback on Amazon Prime - added: "As an actor, your job is to come in... You have control over such a small portion of this massive enterprise. And when you're the director, you are the judge, jury and executioner.”
She then outlined what inspired her to write and direct her 2021 lesbian porn film, Eau de P***y. "It's as if they're written by an algorithm on another planet,” Caitlin said, “But they're always so sexy and it always feels like sex is about to happen - everyone's sniffing each other's necks and licking each other's wrists. So I kind of came up with the concept of a perfume commercial that then becomes a lesbian threesome."
Caitlin's breakthrough role came when she was cast as Francesca 'Frankie Thomas' in children's TV series, The Sleepover Club in 2003. Her first major film role came in 2010's Tomorrow, When the War Began in which she played the titular role of Ellie Linton. For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.
