Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has passed away at the age of 44, as confirmed by the band. Bryar notably played on the band's iconic rock opera, 'The Black Parade.'
A spokesperson for My Chemical Romance released a statement on Sunday, asking for patience and understanding from fans as they come to terms with the news of Bryar's death. No further details were provided in the statement.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, replacing drummer Matt Pelissier, and remained with the band until 2010. Following his departure from the music industry, Bryar auctioned off a drum kit to support an animal adoption center in Williamson County, Tennessee.
In the upcoming year, My Chemical Romance is set to embark on a 10-date North American stadium tour, during which they will perform 'The Black Parade' in its entirety. The album was originally released in 2006 and is considered a pivotal moment in the band's career.
Formed in 2001, My Chemical Romance released four studio albums, with their breakthrough coming in 2004 with 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.' The band announced their breakup in 2013 but surprised fans with a reunion in 2019. It was later revealed that they had secretly reunited two years prior to the official announcement.
