Former Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt will be running it back at Arizona State next year.
Leavitt took to social media on Tuesday to confirm his return to the Sun Devils. This was the first year for Leavitt at Arizona State after transferring from Michigan State last offseason.
Leavitt played in 13 games this past season, and was critical in leading the Sun Devils to the Big 12 championship and College Football Playoff. Leavitt threw for 2,885 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions this past season. He also ran for 443 yards and five touchdowns.
Leavitt wasn’t expected to hit the transfer portal market, but it’s still notable that he confirmed he’ll be back for Arizona State next year. The Sun Devils should again contend for the Big 12 title with Leavitt under center.
