A former Spartans is heading back to the transfer portal just one year after leaving Michigan State.
Ilinois offensive lineman Kevin Wigenton announced on Saturday that he will be entering the transfer portal. Wigenton played for Michigan State for two seasons before transferring to Illinois last offseason.
Wigenton appeared in 12 games this year for Illinois. He started six games at guard for Michigan State in 2023. It’s unclear at this time if Michigan State would pursue bringing back Wigenton, but the offensive line is certainly a position of need for the Spartans in the transfer portal. So don’t be surprised if there’s some chatter connecting Michigan State and Wigenton again.
