Former Michigan Star Hunter Dickinson Announces Transfer Destination

Hunter Dickinson has made his decision. The former Michigan star announced that he is transferring to Kansas on his personal Twitter account on Thursday morning.

“This decision might have been even harder than the one coming out of high school, having all these coaches hit you up again,” Dickinson began. “Then again it was also kind of easier in a sense as I’ve been going through it and stuff. But I’m just really glad it’s over now.”

The video then pans to Dickinson walking through the door of a ballroom to inform Bill Self that he’s committing to play at Kansas next season.

Dickinson spent the previous three seasons with the Wolverines and was a core member of the team from the beginning. He played in 94 total games at Michigan, starting 89, and averaged 17.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in those three years. Dickinson was named the Big Ten Rookie of the Year as a freshman and made an All-Big Ten team in each of his three seasons with the Wolverines.

After Michigan failed to make the NCAA Tournament this year, Dickinson decided to transfer instead of returning for his senior season. The center previously played in the NCAA Tournament when Michigan was a No. 1 seed in 2021 and a No. 11 seed in ’22.
