Retired NRL star Brett Stewart has been charged with cocaine possession after being stopped by police on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
The former Manly Sea Eagles fullback, who was once the face of rugby league, is due to face court later this month charged with one count of possessing a prohibited drug.
NSW Police officers patrolling the Manly area just before 7pm on Friday, March 10, spoke to 38-year-old Stewart before searching him.
"During a search of the man, they allegedly located cocaine," a statement from police said.
"He was charged with possessing a prohibited drug."
Stewart was a two-time premiership winner, playing 233 games for the Sea Eagles and earning the title "The Prince of Brookvale" before his retirement in 2017.
He also played eight State of Origin games throughout his career.
Stewart is currently listed as a mentor positional coach on the Manly Sea Eagles' website.
He will appear at Manly Local Court on April 19.
