Former Manchester United prospect Demi Mitchell has lifted the lid on the advice Roy Keane gave to him ahead of a potential reunion at Hibernian.
Keane has been linked with a return to management with the Scottish Premiership outfit. Reports last week suggested the former United captain was ‘on the verge’ of being appointed after holding talks with Hibs.
The Edinburgh club remain on the lookout for a new boss following the sacking of Shaun Maloney after just four months in charge. Keane is among the names that have been touted for the vacancy, along with the likes of Paul Clement, Phillip Cocu and Henning Berg.

Keane has been out of management since 2019, having last served as assistant to Martin O’Neill at Nottingham Forest. His last stint in the main role came over 11 years ago at Ipswich Town, although the 50-year-old has always been open to a return to management.
He had held talks over the Sunderland job earlier this year before turning down the role. According to reports though, Hibs have expressed an interest in Keane as they look to make an appointment before the end of the current season.
Should Keane make the move to Edinburgh, he would link up with former United prospect Mitchell, who joined the Hibs back in January. The 25-year-old previously encountered Keane as he made his way through the ranks at Old Trafford, and has given an insight on what he could bring with him to Scotland.
"I don't know him personally or anything, but it's good to have big names linked with the club," Mitchell said. "You see him on TV and what he's like and he'd definitely bring a passion to the club if he got the job but we don't know who's coming in.
"When I was at Manchester United he came in for a few talks. It was about how to make the best of our career mentally and physically and motivating us to train hard each day.
“He’s a big motivator – but it’s down to the players to motivate themselves as well. We don’t know who’s coming in, we’re just focused on finishing the season as well as we can.”
