Former Manchester United man Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has been let go by Burton Albion.
Introduced into the first team by Louis van Gaal during the 2015/16 campaign, the left-back went on to make 14 appearances in all competitions for United. An injury crisis in defence led to the academy graduate getting his chance, after Van Gaal consulted coaches Warren Joyce and Paul McGuinness.
Borthwick-Jackson went on to represent Wolves, Leeds United, Scunthorpe United, Tranmere Rovers and Oldham Athletic on loan while a United player. He eventually secured a permanent move to the latter in 2020, after becoming a free agent.

The defender only spent one year at Boundary Park, with Oldham releasing him. Burton Albion swooped in to secure his services on a two-year deal, but the Brewers - who finished 15th last season - have decided against extending his contract.
Borthwick-Jackson made 22 league appearances for the club last campaign and over 60 in total. Another ex-United graduate released at the end of the season is midfielder Josh Harrop. He signed for Northampton Town on a short-term deal mid-way through the season, but the player encountered further injury woes and is now on the hunt for his next move.
It had at one point appeared that the defender had a future at United, with Van Gaal giving him a chance in his first team.
After making his debut against West Brom in November 2015, Van Gaal said: “I have seen him once or twice and I have been impressed by him.
“I knew that Marouane Fellaini was injured, so I talked with Warren Joyce and asked what he had for me.
“I’m always talking with him or Paul McGuinness, and he said at the moment the left full-back is in good shape.
“I needed a left full-back because Marcos Rojo had played a few games in a row, so I have to take into account that it might be too much.
“I put Cameron in the line-up without any fear, and I have to say he did very well.”
