Former Man City ace sends Jurgen Klopp warning ahead of Blues clash with Liverpool FC

Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha believes that all the pressure is on Liverpool ahead of Sunday's clash at Anfield.

In recent years, City's clashes with Liverpool have been key battles in the race for the Premier League title. However, Jurgen Klopp's side already have a mountain to climb to compete with the Blues this season.

Ahead of Pep Guardiola's side's trip to Anfield, City find themselves 13 points clear of their rivals. Liverpool have slumped to 10th in the table as they look to turn draws into victories.

Despite the Blues wanting the three points in order to keep up with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, Onuoha claims that it is Liverpool who are in desperate need of the win. Speaking to City's official website, the 35-year-old said: "Come the end of the season, they want to be where City are.

"They want to be challenging like they have done historically to be going for a league title. They’ll know that the game, for them, from their perspective, is a must-win.

"That seems a crazy thing to say in the middle of October but that is kind of what it feels like because that gap, as it continues to get bigger, it applies more pressure. Before you know it they’d have to not just win say three or four games in a row, you’re talking nine, 10, 11."

Liverpool did receive a confidence boost on Wednesday night when they thrashed Rangers 7-1 at Ibrox. But City are still seen as the favourites heading into the clash on Merseyside.
