Former MAFS Villain Mike Gunner Joins Love Triangle S3 So Guess The Podcast Didn’t Work Out

The bonkers reality series Love Triangle is back for season three, and this time around, it’s as brash, bold and steamy as ever. With a new incredible host and a resurfaced Married At First Sight (MAFS) villain, we’re in for a doozy. Don’t believe me? Just check out this banger quote from the trailer: “I’d rather shit in my hands and clap than get to know him any further.”

I rest my case (but keep reading, obviously).

Although former MAFS contestant Ella Ding hosted season two of Love Triangle, season three has Selling Sunset star (and honorary Australian) Chrishell Straus stepping in to take us through the drama.

But the Venn diagram between MAFS and Love Triangle doesn’t just stop at Ella’s previous involvement with the show. After not having any luck on the apps (presumably), former MAFS villain Mike Gunner is giving Love Triangle a shot to find his one true love.

Who is Mike Gunner?

Just in case you need a refresher, Mike Gunner was a contestant on season six of MAFS in 2019. According to his official Love Triangle bio, he’s described as a 50-year-old videographer who is still single despite knowing “that he looks better than a lot of younger guys”.

On MAFS, he was paired up with Heidi Latcham, but their relationship didn’t make it past the show. During the finale episode, Mike was slammed for making sexist and chauvanistic comments about the drama that occurred between season six brides Martha Kalifatidis and Cyrell Paule.

When the experts questioned the brides whether they’d learned anything from their beef, Mike piped up.

“There’s a few things I’d like to point out,” he said.

“I think groups of women under pressure don’t cope as well as groups of men under pressure. We’re seeing these girls have fallen apart, and the men haven’t. Any group of women that are put in this same type of situation just doesn’t speak to their biology … there is actually some merit in that.”

I’d like to point out that there is no merit in that, and naturally the internet had a lot to say about Mike’s two cents.

Mike doesn’t look too jazzed with his relationship on Love Triangle, either, judging by the trailer. (Image: Love Triangle / Stan)

Shortly after MAFS, Mike started a podcast called the Mike Gunner Podcast – Stick To Your Knitting.

At the time, he told The Courier Mail that his goal for the podcast was to “change the world” and tackle some world issues.

“Can one man, in one podcast, change the world? Maybe. Maybe not. But I’d like to find out,” he said.

“I’m not on a crusade to win back the balance of power to men, but I’d like the scales to be in balance. Equality is what I’m striving for.”

YIKES!!!

However, despite not getting the most favourable MAFS edit — and making some blatantly sexist comments — Mike says that he’s grown a lot since his MAFS days by becoming more self-aware and that’s why he says the concept of Love Triangle, which involves not seeing someone physically before making an emotional connection, appeals to him.

Is there a trailer for Love Triangle season 3?

Absolutely there is!

You can check it out below.

When does Love Triangle season 3 premiere?

The new season of Love Triangle kicks off on April 6 with two spicy episodes. After that, a new cheeky episode will be shown every Sunday.

Where can I watch Love Triangle season 3?

If it wasn’t incredibly obvious already, you can tune in to Love Triangle season three on Stan.

Personally, I can’t wait for the drama! If April 6 feels like it’s way too far away, why not binge seasons one and two while you wait?

You can do so HERE.
