Well, it’s been a week of Married At First Sight (MAFS) goodness. We’ve seen arguments, we’ve seen tears, we’ve seen drama but we’ve also seen sparks. One of the biggest connections at the alter was bride Morena Farina and groom Tony Mojanovski. But sadly, there’s been a hefty chunk of evidence floating around the ether that the spark between the on-screen lovebirds doesn’t last after the show.
Now, thanks to some sneaky texts between Morena and former MAFS groom Harrison Boon, we know why the pair didn’t work out.
According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Harrison shared a series of texts shared to his Instagram Story on Thursday from Morena in which she claimed that she didn’t split from Tony because he was still legally married to his ex-wife, but they split because he was still in love with his ex.
“I do not care that he’s still legally married. That’s not the issue,” she wrote in the text, per Yahoo! Lifestyle.
“The issue is he loves his wife. He wants his wife and he really thought he could come on the show and get his wife in the show. It would make good TV.”
Morena claimed that she was prompted by producers and directors to “stop talking” about it because they didn’t want to bring it up.
“I didn’t let it go and I still haven’t let it go,” she continued.
“This is why they’re playing my character as I talk too much. Do I? I haven’t even started yet.”
Previously, reports began floating around that the downfall of Tony and Morena’s MAFS marriage began when Morena discovered that Tony wasn’t legally divorced.
“I don’t care that he is separated and dating. I took three years to get my divorce so it’s okay,” Morena said in the texts.
“What I care about is he told everyone a the commitment ceremony which is this week that he loves his wife. He wants his wife. He told directors and producers to bring my wife in.”
Although it’s a bummer to know for sure that Tony and Morena didn’t work out IRL, it’s not the first hint from the couple that things didn’t last.
To celebrate her appearance on Married At First Sight, Morena hosted a viewing party for her nearest and dearest with Tony nowhere to be seen.
Anyway, spoilers or not, I’m excited to see how this all plays out because god, I love the drama.
