Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is in the midst of a dispute with Borussia Dortmund that could see him depart the German club this summer due to his poor attitude.
Can scored 14 times in 166 games for the Reds from 2014-2018 after arriving for £9.75m from Bayer Leverkusen. He left the club after failing to agree a new deal and joined Juventus. Can spent 18 months in Turin before joining Dortmund, initially on loan for the second part of the 2019/20 season, after which the deal was made permanent for £22.5m. In total he has made 83 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s former side.
However, Can’s attitude is continuing to frustrate Dortmund manager Edin Terzic and his team-mates. And according to German outlet BILD, the Black and Yellows would like to sell the midfielder if an appropriate offer arrived, with his performances not able to justify his behaviour off the pitch.

The report states Can is outspoken and self-confident by nature but officials at the club are losing patience as time goes on. The midfielder has lectured and irritated fellow players repeatedly. According to reports, he also interrupted former manager Marco Rose during a teamtalk last season.
Can is under contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2024 but Terzic, who was appointed as permanent manager earlier this summer after an interim spell in charge during the 2020/21 season, is keeping an eye on the player. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl reportedly shares the same opinion as the Dortmund boss.
The midfielder earns up to £8.5m per year and is currently out injured after struggling with muscle issues since the start of pre-season. This has been a regular occurrence during his spell in Germany with Can missing 17 competitive games last year because of injury problems.
However, with his high salary and long contract, it may be difficult for Can to find a new club and for Dortmund to offload the midfielder, leaving his future up in the air.
