Former Leeds United man lays out stakes for Bournemouth clash amid Premier League run-in concern

Paul Robinson has claimed Leeds United "must-win" against AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Leeds ended a run of three straight defeats by drawing 1-1 against Leicester City on Tuesday night. However, the Whites were denied a first win in four, after Luis Sinisterra's 20th minute header was cancelled out by Jamie Vardy's equaliser 10 minutes from time.

Javi Gracia's men sit two places and one-point above the relegation zone as it stands but face a tough run-in with the likes of Manchester City and Newcastle United still to play.

The Whites could move to within three points of Bournemouth with a win on the weekend, and Robinson views that match as their best possible chance to pick up points, with such a difficult fixture schedule ahead.

"It's a point, it's not a defeat, and they had to stop the rot somehow. They'd lost four of the past five and the way they were losing games was really poor," Robinson told Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast.

"They couldn't afford to lose [to Leicester] and they've got to win at Bournemouth. You look at the upcoming fixtures and it doesn't look pretty on paper, so the game at Bournemouth this weekend is a must-win for them."

"I think now you can rule out Crystal Palace, Wolves and West Ham. You're now looking from Bournemouth, Leeds, Leicester, Everton, Forest and Southampton.

"For me, Southampton are cut adrift already at the bottom and I think they're going to struggle to get out of it. The other two places are anyone from Bournemouth down. It's going to be interesting to see how it pans out."
