Former Leeds United assistant manager Carlos Corberan is among a three-man shortlist at West Bromwich Albion to replace Steve Bruce. That is according to the Daily Mirror, who claim that Corberan, along with Chris Wilder and Gary Rowett are of interest to the Baggies, as they begin the process of looking for their third manager of the calendar year.
After helping Leeds win promotion to the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa in 2020, Corberan decided to pursue a career in management with West Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town. The 39-year-old was given time to implement his ideas at the John Smith’s Stadium, which after a difficult first season, was just 90 minutes away from paying dividends.
Corberan guided the Terriers to the Sky Bet Championship play-off final in May, where they were then controversially beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest. In a shock turn of events, Corberan then decided to resign from his position at Town and just a few weeks later was appointed as Olympiacos boss.

He lasted just 48 days at the Greek side, though, as he was sacked after just 11 matches, a spell which included defeats in each of their opening two Europa League matches. But with Championship jobs at Hull City and Middlesbrough up for grabs as well as West Brom, he may not have to wait much longer for his next one.
