Former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has overnight become the clear favourite to take over from Frank Lampard at Goodison Park after he was dismissed as Everton manager on Monday.
The Toffees are on the hunt for a new coach to salvage their season. Lampard leaves Everton with the club languishing in 19th place and in drastic need of a fast turnaround if they are to avoid relegation this term.
Bielsa, who left Leeds in February 2022, was heavily linked with the top job at AFC Bournemouth prior to Gary O'Neil's appointment. The 67-year-old returned the Whites to the Premier League after a 16-year hiatus, overseeing a 9th placed finish in their first season back in the top-flight.

The Argentine was eventually dismissed by the club last year after a run of four straight defeats left Leeds 16th in the table. And now it seems that Bielsa is ready to return to management, with Everton considering who they turn to next following Lampard's exit.
After recent reports from the Independent emerged that the club have 'made initial approaches' to tempt Bielsa to Merseyside, followed by the Athletic going one step further and claiming that talks have been held between the club and former Leeds manager - the bookmakers have made it clear that he is the favourite to replace Lampard at Goodison Park.
