Former ITV presenter Eamonn Holmes claims Holly 'stabbed Phil in the back'

A former ITV presenter has accused Holly Willoughby of 'stabbing Phillip Schofield' in the back amid his dramatic exit from This Morning.

Eamonn Holmes, an ex-colleague of the ITV duo, hasn't minced his words when it has come to the sensational morning television drama, reports the Daily Record.

The TV star claimed Holly 'knows the truth', as he discussed the issue on his GB News programme. Co-host Isabel Webster asked Eamonn: "Has Holly stabbed Phillip in the back?"

The former ITV presenter, who hosted This Morning alongside his wife Ruth Langsford until 2021, slammed Holly and quipped: "Yes, she made her name on the back of him."

Isabel interjected: "But if he does something that she doesn't want to be associated with and she said, 'Either I go or he goes' is that stabbing someone in the back or is that saying, 'I have my own professional integrity and I don't want to be associated with something.'"

However, Eamonn piped up: "Excuse me. If she has her own professional integrity then why isn't she coming out in public and saying, 'I have my own professional integrity, he has done something which will reflect badly on me.'

"But, she again is being as false as he is and nobody is talking about the elephant in the room."

The presenter read out Holly's statement on Phil's exit, saying: "She says, 'I thank him for all his knowledge, his experience and his humour' all the things she didn't have when she came to the show."

GB News guest and journalist Dawn Neesom spoke about Eamonn's rumoured 'feud' with Phil after reports surfaced that Rush filed an official complaint against him. This was after he cut her off during the Loose Women crossover.

Dawn said: "[Phillip] rudely interrupted Ruth when she was trying to do a link to Loose Women."

Eamonn interrupted Dawn and continued: "Look I could give you a list of the lack of kindness and the lack of awareness from both of them about how they would socialise with people around them...you just have to look at my phone to see the number of people glad to see the back of both of them."
