Cheshire may be flooded with supercars but Kelvin Fletcher had not qualms about rocking up to breakfast in his tractor. Fans of former Emmerdale star know that he has partially turned his back on the spotlight to set up his very own farm with wife, Liz Marsland.
A few years ago along with their then two children, the couple relocated to the Peak District, where they purchased a 120-acre farm. And while he might have played farmer Andy Sugden in the Yorkshire-set ITV soap, neither Kelvin nor his wife have had previous farming experience.
Kelvin and Liz then documented their new challenge in their own BBC One programme, Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure, which aired earlier this year as they get to grips with the basics of agriculture. And their plan had always been to restore the farmland and run it themselves, despite the challenges they faced along the way as they delved into a whole new world.

But Kelvin looked like the real-life version of his former soap character as he headed to meet Liz, his wife of seven years, and their children daughter Marnie, son Milo and new twins Maximus Crowther and Mateusz Kelvin who they welcomed into the world back in May.
The 38-year-old couldn't be missed as he was seen parking up his tractor in Alderley Edge in Cheshire on Wednesday (September 7). He appeared fresh from the farm as he donned a long-sleeved, check patterned shirt over a t-shirt which were tucked into his muddied blue jeans. He also kept his welly boots on as he headed over to The Village Café.
And Kelvin, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, was sporting a very different look which he surprised fans with back in June during a TV appearance on ITV's Lorraine. As well as working on the farm, Kelvin is currently appearing in the play Jack Absolute Flies Again by Oliver Chris and Richard Bean..
His latest role has led to him growing his very own moustache for the role. Kelvin, who won Strictly with Oti Mabuse after being drafted in to replace an injured star at the eleventh hour, told Lorraine Kelly: "I do get a few funny looks when I'm on the tube, I keep forgetting that I've got it and people are kind of doing a doubletake."
And it appears the moustache is still going strong as he swapped the farm for some time with his young family. Kelvin was seen helping Liz, who has also worked as an actress, with their brood. He could be seen pushing a double buggy down the street with son Milo holding his hand while Liz held on to one of the twins.
They enjoyed a bite to eat before Kelvin jumped back in his tractor a headed on his way. As well as their TV show, the family have even written a new book, Fletcher On The Farm, which is out in October.
As for family life, Kelvin and Liz have their hands full when their family increased by two earlier this year. Liz previously revealed she had a 5am hospital dash before giving birth to their twin boys. The actress and voiceover artist, who married the former soap star in 2015, said she had feared Kelvin might not make it to her bedside in time for the birth.
She told Hello! magazine: "I woke up in the morning and my waters had broken. I rang the hospital and they said to come in. Kelvin had to stay with the kids, so I drove myself to the hospital, which is an hour away, at 5am. I was a bit panicky that Kelvin might miss the birth if it happened straight away. They did a scan and told me, 'It’s going to be today.'"
Recalling the moment they introduced the babies to their older siblings, Liz said: "Milo was like: ‘He’s heavy.’ Marnie was kissing them. It was so cute." Kelvin added: "Even though Milo is only three, he knew instinctively to be really gentle with them. They’ve become more grown up overnight. Marnie has been a great little helper."
Kelvin previously described the news they were expecting twins as a "curveball". The couple shared the news they were expecting twins live on BBC Breakfast in January. Kelvin said: "We just recently found out – to add another curveball, if you like. We don’t really do things by halves and then we found out we’re having not just one baby but two, so we are having twins. It was an absolute eye-opener."
