Former ITV Corrie star shows her 'cheese grater' abs as she tells fans 'I did not wake up like this'

Former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes told fand 'I did not wake up like this' as she posted a photo of herself working out in the gym. In a snap shared on her Instagram the Kate Connor actress showcased her 'cheese grater' abs as she exercised in a white sports bra and leggings.

The 34-year-old from Flixton wrote a message to her fans about 'commitment' and 'determination' as they rushed to compliment the soap star, who was a finalist on Dancing On Ice last year. She wrote: "A Process: Procedure, proceeding apply to something that goes on or takes place. A process is a series of progressive and interdependent steps by which an end is attained: a chemical process. Procedure usually implies a formal or set order of doing a thing, a method of conducting affairs: parliamentary procedure."

She told them: "#ididnotwakeuplikethis - it takes time. It’s commitment. It’s effort. It’s passion. It’s determination. It’s hard work. Yes sometimes it’s something you don’t want to do. But is it rewarding..." and she added: "HELL YEAH" with applause and biceps flexed emojis.

Earlier this week Faye, who is dating Barry's Boot Camp personal trainer Joe Davies, posted another motivational message with a photo of herself in terracotta-coloured workout gear. "Monday Motivation," she wrote.

"Move. Dance. Walk. Run. Cycle. Stretch. Challenge yourself. Whatever you want do, keep moving, keep growing." Faye, who plays the lead role Roxie Hart in the UK theatre tour of the musical Chicago, is currently creating her dream home with her man.

Updating her followers she said: "Our Home renovations are still on going and probably will be for the duration of our summer. It’s not easy when I constantly on the road with my job so we have to make sure that we check in with one another. Behind the scenes all you’ll see is a stream of continuous messages back and forth to one another finalising decisions that have to be made about our forever home."

She added: "Always a Team. Dream home pending ..." Faye played Kate in Coronation Street from 2015 to 2019. After finishing runner-up in Dancing On Ice behind presenter Sonny Jay she won her "dream" theatre role in Chicago, which has been on tour across the UK, and she played to a home crowd at Manchester's Opera House last month.

She said she had always wanted to play the role of Roxie and is "savouring every second" on the tour. She said: "I fought so hard for this role. Roxie is like an onion you can't stop peeling back the layers, so I'm savouring every single second."

Faye has also said that she would love to return to Corrie one day as the soap's Kate Connor. She said she feels grateful that the door was "left very much open" for her character to one day return.
