Former ITV Corrie star Brooke Vincent details 'meltdown' as she channels Emily in Paris in tease of new project

Brooke Vincent reminded some of her followers of Emily in Paris as she teased her brand new project years after last appearing on Coronation Street. The actress is best known for playing Sophie Webster in the ITV soap.

However, Brooke left the soap while pregnant in 2019 to focus on her family and has spent the time since bringing up her sons Mexx, two, and 16-month-old Monroe, alongside her fiance Kean Bryan. But it appears the 30-year-old has been stretching her acting muscles again as she shared some teasers on Instagram.

She shared a rather moody photo with her thousands of followers, showing her alongside a canal at night with only the street lights illuminating the path. "Pending," she typed alongside a video camera emoji. Brooke could be seen keeping warm in a pale blue coat and added a red beret to her head.

@emsieb79 commented: "Very Emily in Paris." @pitt_fan_86 said: "You're so beautiful and so talented." @demiliddy cheered: "Wooohooo," in response to Brooke's post.

She then shared another series of photos showing her walking through an underpass on the cobbles streets. and included a close-up of Brooke's red boots which matched her Parisian-inspired hat. There was also an image of Brooke taking a look at what was being filmed with the crew and her fellow cast.

While she didn't add a caption, she tagged director Matt Hilton and Coronation Street's hair and make-up designer Gillian Walsh as well as Centrepoint, a charity in the United Kingdom which provides accommodation and support to homeless people aged 16–25, hinting that she could be filming a campaign for them.

But the post reminded Brooke's followers of her time in Corrie and saw them sharing their hopes for her return. @bernadette_oreilly70 said: "Hopefully we’ll see you back on the Corrie cobbles one day." @pickersgilllisa echoed: "Love to see you back on corrie."

Brooke left Coronation Street after 18 years in Weatherfield to go on maternity leave with her first son, Mexx, in October 2019. Then in November 2020, she confirmed she was pregnant with her second child and she and Kean welcomed Monroe into the world in May 2021.

But while fans may hope for a return, Brooke says the long and unpredictable hours made it seem impossible for her to go back, without sacrificing time with the kids. "I left Corrie when I was pregnant," she told OK! Magazine in a new interview. “From the age of 11, there’s always been something that’s been the main focus that has had to take priority over other things. I’d wanted to be a mum for so long that I didn’t know how I’d feel about going back to work straight away.

"The hard thing about Corrie was that the hours aren’t a normal nine-to-five, or you couldn’t go part-time, or you couldn’t start after 10am. There was physically no way that I could do it without having a nanny. And there’s Kean’s football as well. I didn’t want the pressure of making those decisions when I didn’t know how I was going to feel.

"I didn’t want that to affect my time with my first baby. I thought while I was able to step away, I did, and I felt that was the best decision for me and my family at the time."

Brooke also opened up to the publication about having a 'meltdown' before she turned 30 earlier this year. She confessed: "I had a full-on meltdown before I turned 30. I did that thing you do at Christmas where you reevaluate everything. Since becoming a mum, I’ve been on the backburner, I’m always thinking about the kids.

"So last October, when Monroe was six months, I thought, ‘I’m 30 next year. I want to have a really good year and I wanted to make more time for me – I want to get myself back."
