Former Iranian Foreign Minister Condemns Israeli Prime Minister

Iranian Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian attends a side event in Geneva

Former Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his role in escalating tensions in the region, following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Zarif accused Netanyahu of pushing the world towards catastrophe with Israel's actions, which he described as genocide and acts of international terrorism and aggression.

Zarif, known for his involvement in Iran's nuclear deal negotiations with western powers, emphasized that the killing of Haniyeh would only strengthen Iran's support for the Palestinian cause. He condemned the assassination as cowardly and stated that it would further solidify Iran's commitment to defending its territory and backing the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom.

Furthermore, Zarif called on the western nations to stop enabling Netanyahu's actions and urged them to join the global community in putting an end to what he referred to as Netanyahu's 'suicidal chaos.' The statement comes amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Iran and Israel engaged in a war of words and accusations.
