Former host Eamonn Holmes calls out ITV's This Morning for 'disrespect' he faces

Former presenter Eamonn Holmes has had a dig at old bosses at ITV claiming he "wasn't treated with respect there".

As reported by BirminghamLive, over the weekend Eamonn has claimed: "It was obvious I didn't tick the boxes for ITV any more and I wasn't being treated with respect there. It was a self-esteem thing.

"You think 'nah I'm out of here, bye!' So that was it.

"And nothing's changed: I play what I do straight. GB News has been very welcoming - it's nice to be appreciated."

Eamonn made the switch to GB News late last year, and he debuted on the show on January 3 2022.

However, his wife Ruth Langsford still works for ITV and remains a key part on the panel of Loose Women.

Back in February, Eamonn put ITV on blast with an in-depth interview by the Daily Mail. He even targeted his former co-host Phillip Schofield, saying: "Phillip is renowned for snubbing people. He's very passive-aggressive.

"It's up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her. No one would have snubbed me like that."

He also added: "I have a good Belfast street fighter in me… I would be direct. I don't go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence."

The husband and wife duo of Eamonn and Ruth co-hosted This Morning on ITV for 15 years, but were replaced by Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond last year.

This Morning is on air each weekday from 10am, and is hosted by Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond.
