Former Hollyoaks star set to join ITV's Emmerdale as drug dealer

Emmerdale fans are set to see a familiar face on the soap later this week.

Former Hollyoaks actor, Parry Glasspool, will be arriving in the Dales as a new character amid the ongoing Leyla Cavanagh drug storyline. Parry is best known for playing Harry Thompson on the soap for five years until 2019 when the character was written out.

Harry was murdered by serial killer Breda McQueen in a surprising twist, with no one seeing it coming. Now, Parry is returning to the soap world for his next role, and will play drug dealer Jason Denshaw, Digital Spy reports.

Parry will apparently play Leyla's new drug dealer, after she's forced to seek other arrangements to get her drugs fix. Leyla is now struggling with the fact she has to find a new supplier for her cocaine fix after Suzy, who used to be her supplier, confides in her that she has decided to get clean.

She is worried that if Suzy stops abusing drugs then she will not be able to get her regular fix. And that is where new character Jason comes in.

He's set to make his debut on Friday, while it's not clear if he will be a recurring character at this point, and what it means for Leyla. It will be Parry's first soap appearance since his Hollyoaks character's devastating demise in 2019, and viewers can see his first scenes on Friday night's episode.

Upon his exit at the time, Glasspool told Digital Spy that he was excited to do other things: "I'm looking forward to doing other stuff now… I'd love to be one of those people who jumps between TV, stage and film, doing different jobs."
