Former Hibs man Dylan McGeouch has found a new home in recently promoted English League One side Carlisle United.
The midfielder has played for four of Scotland's biggest teams, including spending the season before last at Aberdeen - but he has failed to properly take off in the SPFL, opting for a move down south to make his name. However, after being released by Forest Green Rovers following their relegation to League Two and his contract expiring, McGeouch was back on the proverbial transfer scrapheap looking for a new club at the age of 30 - finding his way at Carlisle.
A number of lower-league clubs had watched McGeouch, but it is Cumbria where he will see his career, penning a two-year deal under Paul Simpson's guidance in a bid to keep the Brunton Park outfit in the third-tier following their penalty shoot-out win at Wembley.

United boss Paul Simpson said: “He’s a player who has a wealth of experience both up in Scotland and also down here. He also has League One experience and he’s a really good footballer.
“He comes from a good spell at Forest Green last season and I know it’s stating the obvious, but I’m just really pleased that we’ve got him. He’s a great addition to the group.”
“In terms of how he plays, the best way to describe him is that he’s a footballer. He keeps the ball for you, and we’re coming up another level, so that’s exactly what we need to do. He can use it, he creates chances, and that good level of experience adds more to a group that already has energy and enthusiasm."
The Glaswegian grew up in the Celtic and Rangers academies before opting for a return to Lennoxtown - making his debut for the Hoops as an 18-year-old. Four seasons at Hibs transpired after he failed to break into the first team, and from there the midfield didn't look back, notching 95 appearances for the Leith-based outfit before moving down to Sunderland.
Another three seasons at Aberdeen passed before a sudden drop in quality to Forest Green became his worst season as the Gloucestershire side were relegated; though he has now found a home much closer to home in Carlisle, which sits just below the Scottish-English border.
