Former Hibs and Rangers star Jason Cummings joins Hearts' Cammy Devlin in Australia squad

Jason Cummings and Cammy Devlin have landed first call-ups for Australia

The Hearts ace is joined by team-mate Nathaniel Atkinson in Graham Arnold's squad for the double-header with New Zealand as both get the chance to lay down a marker for inclusion for the World Cup later this year.

Team-mate Kye Rowles misses out as he continues to recover from injury. He was a standout in the play-off success that took the Socceroos to the finals in Qatar later this year. He should be back in action within five weeks in a major boost to club and country. He had been an ever-present since his summer arrival making five appearances in the Premiership and two in Europa League qualifying before the injury. Robbie Neilson's trio will get further chance to impress with a busy schedule of games both domestically and in the Europa Conference League before the finals in November.

But debut boy Devlin and Hearts pal Atkinson will get the chance to stake a claim up close and personal with Arnold after landing a spot in the squad.

Former Rangers and Hibs star Jason Cummings is also involved as is Easter Road fans' favourite Martin Boyle. His 10 goals in his debut A-League Men’s campaign has impressed his new national team boss and landed him his place in the 31-man squad.

On his selection, Cummings said: "I am just really excited, buzzing - this was on my mind when I came to Australia and I was over the moon when I heard the news.

"My Grandparents came over here in the 1960s, Australia is close to my family. I can see myself living here for the rest of my life as well. To get a call-up for the famous Socceroos is unbelievable."

On Devlin, boss Arnold added: "Cam (Devlin) came to the Olympics, he's gone overseas and has done very well.

"He brings something totally different to our other midfielders, as a defensive number six."
