Former Governor Nikki Haley faces backlash from former ally, Senator Tim Scott

Former President Trump predicts that Nikki Haley won't win the Republican nomination.

In the run-up to the New Hampshire primary, the competition between former President Donald Trump and former Governor Nikki Haley has intensified. Sources reveal that South Carolina Senator Tim Scott is set to endorse Trump during a rally in Concord tonight, despite his longstanding political ties with Haley. Both Trump and Haley personally reached out to Scott in an attempt to secure his endorsement, but he ultimately chose to align himself with the frontrunner.

As the race heats up, Haley is escalating her attacks on Trump, whom she once worked closely with during her tenure as governor. Trump, however, expressed doubt about Haley's ability to handle the presidency, citing an inability to handle the 'onslaught' of the position. These remarks come just days before the New Hampshire primary, indicating the high stakes and tension within the Republican race.

Haley's ally, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, downplayed Scott's endorsement, stating that Scott owes his position to Haley, effectively dismissing his significance in the matter. Nonetheless, Scott's decision to back Trump indicates a widening lead for the former president in the Granite State, as new polls show him with a significant 17-point advantage over Haley.

Despite Trump's growing momentum in New Hampshire, Haley remains undeterred, asserting that the poll results are not the determining factor. She believes that Trump's success in New Hampshire stems from the momentum gained from the Iowa caucuses. On the other hand, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has adjusted his campaign strategy to focus on South Carolina, predicts that Trump will dominate in New Hampshire and asserts that a victory over Haley in her home state is inevitable. The South Carolina primary is still over a month away, but DeSantis's confidence reflects the high regard Trump enjoys among the Republican base.

In the midst of the intensifying competition, a controversial incident arose on social media. Trump referred to Haley by her given first name, Nimbra, which Haley alleges was meant to mock her. However, it is worth noting that Haley typically goes by her middle name, Nikki. Haley interpreted this as a sign of Trump's insecurity and fear of her candidacy.

As the candidates and their supporters gear up for the New Hampshire primary, the race remains unpredictable. The imminent endorsement by Senator Tim Scott, once a political ally to Haley, underscores the challenges she faces in her campaign against Trump, who currently holds a substantial lead in the polls. The contest now shifts to New Hampshire, where both candidates will make their final appeals to voters before their focus shifts to the pivotal South Carolina primary in the coming weeks.
